A large Midwest regional bank is seeking a Lead Solutions Architect to join its enterprise technology organization. This role is responsible for designing and implementing scalable, secure, and enterprise-grade technology solutions that align with strategic business priorities and technical standards.

The Lead Solutions Architect will provide technical leadership across complex business initiatives, partnering closely with business stakeholders, engineering teams, infrastructure organizations, and security teams to translate business requirements into modern, resilient solution architectures. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in cloud-native technologies, enterprise integration, and modern architecture practices within financial services environments.


Key Responsibilities:

Enterprise Solution Architecture

  • Design and develop comprehensive solution architectures supporting complex enterprise initiatives and business transformation programs
  • Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and efficient technical architectures and implementation strategies
  • Define target-state architectures, integration models, and enterprise solution patterns aligned with business objectives

Technical Leadership & Delivery Support

  • Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Support engineering and development teams during design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational readiness phases
  • Conduct architecture reviews and provide recommendations for optimization, modernization, and operational improvements
  • Mentor and guide junior architects, engineers, and technical staff across enterprise technology initiatives

Technology Evaluation & Modernization

  • Evaluate and recommend technology platforms, frameworks, tools, and architectural approaches that support enterprise scalability and resiliency
  • Drive modernization initiatives involving:
    • Cloud-native architectures
    • Microservices
    • API-first design
    • Enterprise integrations
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and enterprise architecture best practices

Governance, Security & Compliance

  • Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, governance frameworks, security requirements, and regulatory compliance obligations
  • Partner with infrastructure, security, operations, and risk management teams to ensure resilient and compliant solution delivery
  • Support secure-by-design principles, operational resiliency, and enterprise governance practices

Documentation & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Create and maintain architecture artifacts including:
    • Solution designs
    • Technical specifications
    • Integration patterns
    • Architecture diagrams
    • Reference architectures
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to define requirements, priorities, and implementation strategies
  • Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • Extensive experience in Solution Architecture and enterprise application design
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Microservices architectures
    • API-first design
    • Cloud-native solutions
    • Enterprise integration patterns
  • Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
  • Deep understanding of middleware technologies and enterprise integration architectures
  • Experience with both relational and NoSQL database technologies
  • Strong understanding of security principles, governance standards, and enterprise best practices
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and presentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business organizations
  • Financial services or banking industry experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting enterprise modernization and digital transformation initiatives
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation
  • Strong understanding of operational resiliency, disaster recovery, and high-availability architectures
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise delivery organizations in regulated environments
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and governance methodologies
  • Cloud architecture or enterprise architecture certifications preferred
