A tier-one global bank is seeking a Program Manager, Strategic Implementation at the Vice President level to lead enterprise strategic implementation initiatives that support business transformation, operational excellence, and organizational growth.

This leadership role is responsible for managing complex, cross-functional programs from strategy through execution while ensuring alignment with business priorities, operational objectives, and enterprise governance standards. The Program Manager will collaborate closely with senior leadership, technology teams, operations organizations, compliance partners, and business stakeholders to deliver high-impact initiatives that drive measurable business outcomes across the organization.

The ideal candidate will bring strong program leadership capabilities, financial services expertise, and experience managing enterprise transformation initiatives within dynamic and highly matrixed environments.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Program Leadership

  • Lead and manage large-scale, cross-functional strategic implementation programs from initiation through delivery
  • Drive enterprise initiatives that support business transformation, operational excellence, and organizational priorities
  • Ensure programs are executed successfully while meeting timeline, scope, quality, and governance expectations

Program Planning & Governance

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive program plans including:
    • Scope definition
    • Timelines and milestones
    • Resource allocation
    • Risk mitigation strategies
    • Governance and reporting frameworks
  • Drive program governance activities including:
    • Executive status reporting
    • Risk and issue escalation
    • Decision-making coordination
    • Stakeholder alignment
  • Monitor program performance against established KPIs, milestones, and business objectives

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Partner with senior stakeholders across business units to align implementation objectives with enterprise priorities
  • Coordinate execution across:
    • Technology teams
    • Operations organizations
    • Compliance groups
    • Business stakeholders
  • Facilitate collaboration and communication across diverse teams, departments, and geographic regions
  • Manage dependencies, risks, and operational challenges across multiple workstreams

Risk Management & Operational Excellence

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks, issues, and dependencies proactively throughout the program lifecycle
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise project management methodologies, governance standards, and best practices
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen program execution, operational efficiency, and governance maturity

Leadership & Team Development

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to program team members and delivery resources
  • Foster a collaborative, execution-focused, and results-oriented program management culture
  • Support organizational alignment and execution discipline across strategic initiatives

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in:
    • Program Management
    • Project Management
    • Strategic Implementation within financial services environments
  • Proven track record successfully delivering large-scale, complex strategic initiatives
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Banking operations
    • Technology delivery
    • Regulatory environments
    • Enterprise governance frameworks
  • Excellent stakeholder management, executive communication, and influencing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results within highly matrixed organizations
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience with enterprise program management methodologies, governance frameworks, and reporting tools
  • PMP or equivalent project/program management certification preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively within fast-paced environments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting enterprise transformation or operational modernization initiatives within banking organizations
  • Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery methodologies
  • Strong understanding of operational risk management and compliance practices within financial services
  • Experience leading geographically distributed and cross-functional delivery teams
  • Proven ability to engage senior executives and drive enterprise alignment across strategic programs
