A US credit union is seeking a Senior Commercial Credit Analyst to join their team.

Position Overview:
The Senior Commercial Credit Analyst will be responsible for conducting comprehensive credit analysis and risk assessment for commercial lending opportunities. This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate complex financial information to support sound lending decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed financial analysis of commercial loan applications, including review of financial statements, tax returns, and business plans
- Assess creditworthiness of commercial borrowers and prepare comprehensive credit memorandums
- Analyze cash flow, collateral values, and repayment capacity for commercial lending relationships
- Monitor existing commercial loan portfolios and identify potential credit risks
- Prepare detailed written credit recommendations for senior management and loan committees
- Ensure compliance with lending policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with commercial lending officers to structure appropriate loan terms and conditions
- Conduct industry research and market analysis to support credit decisions
- Maintain current knowledge of commercial lending best practices and regulatory changes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required
- Minimum 5 years of commercial credit analysis experience in a financial institution
- Strong understanding of commercial lending products, credit risk assessment, and financial statement analysis
- Proficiency in analyzing complex financial data and preparing detailed credit reports
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Knowledge of commercial lending regulations and compliance requirements
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis software
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
