A US bank is seeking a Director, Architecture Lead to join their technology organization.

Location: Lake Mary, FL

Role Overview

The Director, Architecture Lead will be responsible for defining and driving the technical architecture strategy across the organization. This role requires a seasoned technology leader who can balance strategic vision with hands-on technical expertise to guide complex enterprise initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of enterprise architecture solutions that align with business objectives and technology strategy
  • Define architectural standards, patterns, and best practices across the technology organization
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams on architecture decisions
  • Collaborate with senior technology leaders and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations for adoption
  • Drive architectural governance processes and ensure compliance with established standards
  • Mentor and develop architecture team members
  • Lead architecture reviews and provide oversight for critical technology initiatives
  • Partner with engineering teams to ensure successful delivery of complex projects
  • Create and maintain architecture documentation and artifacts

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in technology roles with progressive responsibility
  • 5+ years of experience in architecture leadership positions
  • Deep expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of modern technology stacks, cloud platforms, and distributed systems
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale technology transformations
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in financial services or highly regulated industries
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to influence and drive consensus across diverse teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in relevant technical field
  • Enterprise architecture certifications (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.)
  • Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience with microservices, APIs, and modern integration patterns
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools
