A US bank is seeking a Director, Architecture Lead to join their technology organization.
Location: Lake Mary, FL
Role Overview
The Director, Architecture Lead will be responsible for defining and driving the technical architecture strategy across the organization. This role requires a seasoned technology leader who can balance strategic vision with hands-on technical expertise to guide complex enterprise initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of enterprise architecture solutions that align with business objectives and technology strategy
- Define architectural standards, patterns, and best practices across the technology organization
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams on architecture decisions
- Collaborate with senior technology leaders and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations for adoption
- Drive architectural governance processes and ensure compliance with established standards
- Mentor and develop architecture team members
- Lead architecture reviews and provide oversight for critical technology initiatives
- Partner with engineering teams to ensure successful delivery of complex projects
- Create and maintain architecture documentation and artifacts
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in technology roles with progressive responsibility
- 5+ years of experience in architecture leadership positions
- Deep expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies
- Strong knowledge of modern technology stacks, cloud platforms, and distributed systems
- Proven track record of leading large-scale technology transformations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience in financial services or highly regulated industries
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to influence and drive consensus across diverse teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in relevant technical field
- Enterprise architecture certifications (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.)
- Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with microservices, APIs, and modern integration patterns
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools
