A US bank is seeking a Senior Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Analyst to join its compliance team.

Location: Hauppauge, NY

Position Overview

The Senior BSA Analyst will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering regulations, and related financial crimes prevention requirements. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with various departments across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct complex investigations of potentially suspicious activity and prepare Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Perform enhanced due diligence reviews on high-risk customers and transactions
  • Monitor and analyze customer transactions to identify unusual or suspicious patterns
  • Review and investigate alerts generated by the transaction monitoring system
  • Ensure timely filing of Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) and other required BSA reports
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of BSA/AML policies and procedures
  • Provide guidance and training to junior analysts and other bank staff on BSA/AML requirements
  • Participate in BSA/AML risk assessments and audit activities
  • Maintain current knowledge of BSA/AML regulations and industry best practices
  • Collaborate with other compliance functions, including OFAC, fraud prevention, and information security

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Criminal Justice, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in BSA/AML compliance within the banking industry
  • CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) certification preferred
  • Strong knowledge of BSA/AML regulations, including the USA PATRIOT Act
  • Experience with transaction monitoring systems and case management platforms
  • Excellent analytical and investigative skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

Compensation: $70,000 – $80,000
