A large national consumer bank is seeking a Director of Technical Program Management to join its technology organization.

Overview

This role will lead complex technical programs across the enterprise, driving strategic initiatives that support the bank’s digital transformation and technology modernization efforts. The Director will partner with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple large scale, complex technical programs from inception through delivery
  • Partner with senior technology and business leaders to define program strategy, scope, and success metrics
  • Drive alignment across cross-functional teams including engineering, architecture, product management, and operations
  • Establish program governance frameworks, risk management processes, and communication plans
  • Identify and resolve dependencies, blockers, and risks across multiple workstreams
  • Build and mentor a team of technical program managers
  • Define and track key performance indicators to measure program health and business impact
  • Facilitate executive-level reporting and stakeholder communications
  • Champion agile and DevOps practices across program teams
  • Drive continuous improvement in program management processes and tooling

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  • 10+ years of experience in technical program management or related roles
  • 5+ years of experience leading large scale technology programs in complex enterprise environments
  • Proven track record of delivering multi-million dollar technology initiatives on time and within budget
  • Deep understanding of software development lifecycle, cloud technologies, and modern architecture patterns
  • Strong leadership and people management experience
  • Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills
  • Experience with agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and program management tools
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity in complex technical environments
  • PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification preferred

Technical Skills

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Understanding of microservices architecture, APIs, and distributed systems
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools
  • Knowledge of data engineering and analytics platforms
  • Experience with program management tools such as Jira, Confluence, and MS Project

Compensation: $209,500-$286,900
