A US credit union is seeking a VP, Banking Platforms to lead critical technology initiatives supporting member services and operational excellence.

Location: Hybrid — South Bend-Mishawaka, IN

Position Overview:

This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing the strategy, implementation, and optimization of core banking platforms and related technologies. The VP, Banking Platforms will drive digital transformation efforts, ensure system reliability and security, and align technology solutions with business objectives to enhance member experience and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership for all banking platform technologies, including core banking systems, digital banking solutions, and payment processing platforms
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive technology roadmap that supports business growth and member service objectives
  • Lead vendor relationships and manage contracts for banking technology solutions
  • Oversee system implementations, upgrades, and integrations to ensure minimal disruption and maximum value
  • Collaborate with business units to identify technology needs and deliver solutions that improve operational efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for banking technology
  • Manage platform performance, availability, and disaster recovery capabilities
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of technology professionals
  • Drive innovation by evaluating emerging technologies and their potential application
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators for platform effectiveness and reliability
  • Partner with Information Security to maintain robust security controls and risk management practices
  • Manage technology budgets and ensure cost-effective delivery of services

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in banking technology, with at least 5 years in leadership roles
  • Deep knowledge of core banking systems and digital banking platforms
  • Proven track record of successful large-scale technology implementations
  • Strong understanding of financial services regulations and compliance requirements
  • Excellent vendor management and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Outstanding leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience managing technology budgets and resources
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices in financial services
