A US credit union is seeking a Senior Principal EPMO Technical Program Manager to lead strategic technical initiatives and drive enterprise-wide program excellence.

Position Overview
This role serves as a senior leader within the Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO), responsible for overseeing complex, high-impact technical programs that span multiple departments and technology domains. The Senior Principal EPMO Technical Program Manager will work closely with executive leadership, technology teams, and business stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of critical initiatives that advance the organization’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage large-scale, enterprise-wide technical programs from initiation through delivery, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and business priorities
- Develop comprehensive program plans, including scope, schedule, budget, resource allocation, risk management, and quality assurance strategies
- Establish and maintain program governance frameworks, including steering committees, status reporting, and decision-making processes
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across technology, operations, compliance, risk, and business units to drive program execution
- Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks and issues, escalating to executive leadership as appropriate
- Monitor program performance using appropriate metrics and KPIs, providing regular status updates to stakeholders and leadership
- Drive continuous improvement of EPMO processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance program delivery capabilities
- Mentor and coach program and project managers, fostering a culture of excellence and professional development
- Facilitate change management activities to ensure successful adoption of new systems, processes, and capabilities
- Manage vendor relationships and third-party resources as needed to support program objectives
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices throughout program execution
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in technical program or project management, with at least 5 years managing enterprise-level programs
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex, multi-year technical programs involving multiple teams and stakeholders
- Deep understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid approaches
- Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture, cloud technologies, and modern application development practices
- Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills, with ability to influence at all organizational levels
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated expertise in risk management, issue resolution, and change management
- Experience with program management tools and platforms such as Jira, Confluence, MS Project, or similar
- PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification strongly preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in relevant field
- Experience in financial services or credit union industry
- Certifications in Agile methodologies (SAFe, CSM, etc.)
- Experience with digital transformation initiatives
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements in financial services
Compensation: $164,000 – $197,000
