As an IT Project Management Director, you will be responsible for program delivery, governance, resource planning, risk oversight, and stakeholder engagement from initiation through completion. This role partners closely with business, technology, and infrastructure leaders to deliver sustainable outcomes, improve transparency, and drive organizational change within a regulated banking environment.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
Lead the successful delivery of a portfolio of technology programs, ensuring agreed objectives, timelines, budgets, and outcomes are achieved. Establish program governance frameworks, including scope, stakeholder engagement, resource plans, reporting, and delivery standards. Build and oversee Program Management Office (PMO) structures, defining clear ownership, responsibilities, and accountability across workstreams. Partner with business and technology leaders to align program priorities with strategic objectives and operational needs. Monitor program performance, risks, dependencies, and financials, taking corrective action when needed to maintain successful delivery. Review and approve key milestones, deliverables, and completion plans, ensuring solutions are sustainable and meet business requirements. Drive consistent communication across programs, providing senior leaders with transparent reporting and progress updates. Promote collaboration across teams, regions, and business units to share knowledge, improve delivery practices, and support enterprise initiatives.
Position Specifications
10+ years of experience leading complex technology programs, project portfolios, or PMO functions. Proven experience managing large-scale technology initiatives within a financial services, banking, or regulated environment. Strong expertise in project and program management, including scope definition, planning, budgeting, risk management, and delivery governance. Good understanding of products in Capital Markets and associated Credit Risk. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence business, technology, and executive stakeholders. Experience establishing PMOs, delivery frameworks, and operational reporting structures. Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex information into actionable insights. Knowledge of technology delivery practices, systems development lifecycles, and organizational change management. Ability to make informed decisions in complex or ambiguous situations while balancing business objectives, risks, and regulatory requirements.
Nice To Have
Experience with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies. Experience leading global or multi-regional technology programs. Familiarity with enterprise transformation, process improvement, or operational excellence initiatives.
