A leading regional bank is preparing to migrate its core banking platform from FIS HORIZON to FIS IBS and is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead this high-impact initiative. This is a complex, multi-phase migration requiring disciplined execution, strong stakeholder coordination, and deep familiarity with core banking conversions.
The Senior Project Manager will act as a stabilizing leader across business and technology teams, ensuring delivery excellence, risk mitigation, and clear executive communication throughout the program lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project management of the HORIZON to IBS migration, from planning through post-conversion stabilization.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including IT, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Business Units.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource forecasts.
- Proactively identify, track, and mitigate risks while maintaining momentum toward critical milestones.
- Ensure all deliverables meet quality, schedule, and budget expectations.
- Prepare regular status reporting for executive stakeholders and, as needed, regulatory audiences.
- Serve as the primary liaison with FIS and third-party vendors supporting the migration.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of project management experience in banking or financial services.
- Proven track record managing core banking system migrations, particularly involving FIS platforms.
- Strong understanding of banking operations, regulatory requirements, and vendor management.
- Hands-on experience with FIS HORIZON (legacy) and FIS IBS (target) platforms.
- Expertise in project governance, stakeholder communication, and risk management.
- Excellent leadership, planning, and organizational skills.
- English language proficiency.
Preferred Skills
- PMP or equivalent project management certification.
- Prior experience working directly with FIS teams or in bank-to-FIS migration programs.
- Experience delivering large programs in hybrid or remote environments.
- Familiarity with ancillary systems integrated with core platforms (e.g., digital banking, payments, loan origination, CRM).
Work Arrangement
Hybrid — primarily remote with occasional travel for project kickoff and key milestone meetings.
