About the Role

A regional bank in the Northeast U.S. is seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead a large-scale core banking transformation initiative. This role is critical to orchestrating multiple workstreams, aligning executive stakeholders, and ensuring disciplined delivery across a complex transformation program that spans technology, operations, and governance.

The Program Manager will serve as a senior delivery leader—often acting in a transformation director–like capacity—with responsibility for program governance, execution oversight, and executive communication throughout the lifecycle of the initiative.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end program management for a multi-stream core banking transformation.
  • Establish and maintain program governance frameworks, cadence, and reporting.
  • Coordinate cross-functional delivery across technology, operations, vendors, and business teams.
  • Manage integrated program plans, dependencies, risks, and milestones.
  • Provide clear, executive-level status reporting and decision support.
  • Ensure alignment between strategic objectives and day-to-day execution.
  • Support change management and readiness activities as the program progresses.

Required Qualifications

  • Senior-level experience managing large-scale banking or financial services transformation programs.
  • Strong understanding of core banking platforms (FIS Systematics or equivalent).
  • Proven expertise in program governance, delivery oversight, and executive stakeholder management.
  • Comfortable presenting to and managing up to executive leadership.
  • Strong cross-functional coordination and leadership skills.
  • English language proficiency.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience serving in a Program Director or Transformation Lead capacity.
  • Familiarity with Agile and hybrid delivery environments.
  • Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, MS Project, Confluence, and Office 365.
  • Experience in contract-to-hire or long-term transformation engagements.

Work Arrangement

Hybrid — 2–3 days onsite preferred.

Contract Details

  • Duration: 6–12 months, with contract-to-hire potential.

  • Rate: $100–$120 per hour.
