A leading regional bank is preparing to launch a major Systematics core banking conversion and is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to provide enterprise-level leadership across solution design, integration strategy, and transition planning. This is a high-visibility transformation program requiring deep architectural expertise and the ability to guide complex migration decisions across multiple banking domains.

Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Architecture, the Solutions Architect will partner closely with technology and business stakeholders, product owners, vendor teams, and program leadership to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise goals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as lead architect for the Systematics core conversion across retail, commercial, lending, deposits, payments, and customer systems.
  • Design future-state integration architecture between legacy platforms and Systematics modules.
  • Ensure interoperability across API gateways, batch systems, middleware layers, and vendor-hosted solutions.
  • Lead architecture working sessions to evaluate tradeoffs and define optimal migration paths.
  • Establish architectural patterns, principles, and governance guidelines across the program.
  • Document technical architecture artifacts including interaction diagrams, sequence flows, and service registries.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and DevOps teams on deployment strategies and release management.
  • Partner with InfoSec to ensure architectural compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Review vendor solutions for fit-to-purpose, extensibility, and lifecycle support.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise or solutions architecture within banking or financial services.
  • Deep expertise with FIS Systematics (IBS) or equivalent core banking platforms.
  • Proven success supporting core conversions or large-scale system integrations.
  • Strong background in enterprise integration (EAI), SOA, and microservices architectures.
  • Familiarity with batch processing, payment systems (ACH, wires), and real-time integration strategies.
  • Experience with architectural tools (Sparx, ArchiMate, Lucidchart) and governance frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical complexity into business-aligned guidance.
  • Hands-on ability to produce diagrams, design documents, and architectural runbooks.
  • English language proficiency.

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience in Systematics conversion programs within regional banks.
  • Strong vendor evaluation and integration oversight experience.
  • Expertise supporting regulated environments requiring strict architectural compliance.

Work Arrangement

Hybrid — 1–2 days per week onsite preferred.
