A regional bank in the Midwest is undertaking a core banking platform migration to TCS BaNCS and is seeking an experienced Business Analyst with General Ledger/Finance domain expertise to support this critical transformation. This role focuses on the GL module, ensuring accurate requirements gathering, gap analysis, and successful implementation of financial accounting and reporting on the new platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for the General Ledger domain (chart of accounts, journal entries, financial reporting, reconciliation).
- Conduct gap analysis between current GL processes and TCS BaNCS capabilities.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications for technical teams.
- Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, and technology teams to validate GL workflows and reporting needs.
- Support data mapping and migration activities for GL balances, transaction history, and account structures.
- Assist with testing coordination, UAT planning, and defect triage for GL functionality.
- Ensure alignment with regulatory reporting requirements and accounting standards.
- Provide training support and documentation for end users.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of business analysis experience in banking or financial services.
- Strong domain knowledge of general ledger, financial accounting, and bank reconciliation processes.
- Experience supporting core banking migrations or implementations.
- Understanding of bank financial reporting and regulatory filings (Call Reports, etc.).
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Fluent English proficiency (written and verbal).
Preferred Skills
- Experience with TCS BaNCS or similar core banking platforms.
- Background with regional or mid-size U.S. banks.
- Knowledge of sub-ledger to GL integration and reconciliation.
- Familiarity with data migration and conversion methodologies.
- CPA or accounting background is a plus.
