A major global bank is seeking a Managing Director to lead the most strategically important global core banking modernization initiative. This role drives migration from monolithic architectures to globally consistent microservices-based solutions, initially focusing on the LATAM region (11 countries) to define the blueprint for global rollout.

Responsibilities
- End-to-end ownership for execution and delivery of the firm’s most strategically important global core banking modernization initiative
- Lead the modernization of the Core Banking platform, driving migration from monolithic architectures to globally consistent microservices-based solutions
- Lead transformation across multiple strategic programs, initially focusing on the LATAM region (11 countries) to define the blueprint for global rollout
- Work with senior partners across product management, business lines, operations, and technology to ensure the program realizes its business objectives and establishes a robust target state architecture
- Lead, motivate, and manage a direct end-to-end program team while providing virtual oversight and direction to all associated delivery teams
- Establish and lead a robust governance framework, including chairing steering committees, managing senior stakeholder communications, preparing executive materials, and overseeing risk and issue management with timely escalations
- Assume full accountability for the program’s financials, managing a significant budget to ensure delivery against strategic priorities
- Shape the strategic direction of core technology and interact with the most senior leaders across the organization
Compensation
Estimated base salary: $250,000 – $350,000 per year (Managing Director / C16 level). Total compensation including performance bonus and deferred compensation estimated at $500,000 – $800,000+ depending on business performance and individual rating.
Qualifications
- Minimum 15 years of experience in banking and financial services, with at least 8–10 years in a technical program or large-scale transformation leadership role
- Demonstrable experience leading large, complex platform transformations, conversions, or migrations, including incremental modernization of legacy technology
- Proven leadership experience with end-to-end ownership of technology solutions, including facing off to senior business stakeholders, regulators, and internal audit
- Functional experience in one or more: DDA (demand deposit accounts), cash management, payments, receivables, liquidity management, commercial cards, or trade finance
- Strong proficiency in SAFe Agile methodologies and experience driving culture change within a large organization
- Experience with modern technology stacks including microservices architecture, real-time integration/middleware, high-throughput 24×7 systems, and CI/CD pipelines
- Expertise with core banking platforms and accounting principles highly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
