A US bank is seeking a Vice President, Solution Architect to join its Data Solution and Services Platform team. This role is critical in shaping enterprise architecture strategies and delivering scalable, high-performance solutions across complex banking domains. The ideal candidate will bring deep financial services expertise and play a key role in aligning technology architecture with business objectives across multiple lines of business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality architecture and design solutions aligned with enterprise standards and bank policies
- Collaborate with architecture teams, application development, infrastructure engineering, and business stakeholders
- Define and implement target-state architecture for domain-specific and enterprise initiatives
- Contribute to enterprise-level architecture strategy, governance, and design frameworks
- Promote architecture best practices, standards, and reusable design patterns across the organization
- Lead research and innovation in architecture disciplines and solution design
- Drive optimization and value realization from IT assets across the enterprise
- Design scalable, stable, and high-performance systems and platforms
- Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, including recruiting, coaching, and performance development (if applicable)
- Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality architecture and design services
Required Qualifications:
- Significant experience in financial services, specifically within banking environments
- Deep domain expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Asset Servicing (Global Custody, Fund Accounting, Middle Office)
- Issuer Services (Depository Receipts, Capital Markets)
- Clearance and Collateral Management
- Global Markets and Trading
- Structured Debt and Asset-Backed Securities
- Credit Services and Lending Solutions
- Treasury Services (Liquidity, Trade Finance, Clearing & Settlement)
- Proven experience in solution architecture, enterprise architecture, or related roles
- Strong understanding of architecture governance, frameworks, and best practices
- Experience designing complex, enterprise-scale systems and platforms
- Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
- Effective communication skills across technical and business audiences
Preferred Skills:
- Experience leading enterprise architecture initiatives in large financial institutions
- Familiarity with modern technology stacks, cloud platforms, and distributed systems
- Experience defining architecture standards and governance frameworks
- Leadership experience managing or mentoring technical teams
- Exposure to data platforms, analytics, and digital transformation initiatives
- Experience supporting long-term enterprise modernization and transformation programs
