A US bank is seeking a Director, Bank Platforms to lead cross-functional teams in delivering enhancements and modernization initiatives across its core banking platform. This role is critical in shaping the platform roadmap, driving transformation across deposits, lending, and servicing capabilities, and ensuring seamless integration within a broader financial ecosystem. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader who aligns business, technology, and operations to deliver scalable, resilient, and high-performing banking solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

Platform Strategy & Roadmap Ownership

  • Own and drive the Bank Platform roadmap aligned with enterprise strategy
  • Define and execute the future-state platform vision in partnership with Technology teams
  • Identify modernization and automation opportunities to enhance platform capabilities

Delivery & Execution Leadership

  • Lead Product Owners, Business Systems Analysts, and Senior Managers across scrum teams and vendor partners
  • Oversee delivery of platform enhancements ensuring quality, stability, and performance
  • Manage enterprise dependencies to improve resiliency, scalability, and cost efficiency
  • Ensure strong platform hygiene, governance, and operational excellence

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with stakeholders across Retail, Advisor, Banking, Technology, and Operations
  • Align business requirements with technical delivery and platform capabilities
  • Influence and drive alignment across senior leadership and cross-functional teams

Team Leadership & Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing product and analysis organization
  • Set clear expectations for delivery, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Mentor and develop talent across product and business analysis functions

Performance & Continuous Improvement

  • Leverage data and metrics to drive performance improvements and decision-making
  • Foster a culture of transparency, agility, and value-driven outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and enterprise risk frameworks

Required Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in product, platform, or program leadership within financial services
  • Strong expertise in core banking platforms, including deposits, lending, and servicing
  • Proven ability to lead large, cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment
  • Demonstrated success delivering large-scale platform modernization initiatives
  • Strong business acumen with ability to align strategy, technology, and operations
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills
  • Experience operating in highly regulated environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with digital banking platforms and ecosystem integrations
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery models and product management frameworks
  • Background in enterprise architecture collaboration and platform strategy
  • Experience managing vendor partnerships and third-party integrations
  • Proven track record of driving efficiency, automation, and cost optimization initiatives
  • Experience supporting long-term enterprise transformation programs
