A US community bank is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to serve as a strategic, hands-on leader designing and delivering complex, secure, and scalable solutions across core banking, digital channels, integration platforms, data/AI, and cloud infrastructure. This role is critical in supporting modernization initiatives, including cloud adoption, API-first integration, and advanced data and AI capabilities, while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
Solution Architecture Design
- Lead end-to-end solution design (conceptual, logical, physical) across banking domains including deposits, lending, payments, and digital account opening
- Define integration strategies using REST APIs, event streaming, ETL/iPaaS, and ESB patterns
- Develop canonical data models to promote reuse and reduce redundancy
- Produce and maintain architecture artifacts including diagrams, interface contracts, decision records, and threat models
Delivery Leadership
- Partner with product owners, engineering, InfoSec, and vendors to plan and execute delivery from PoC through MVP to scale
- Provide hands-on technical leadership during development and implementation phases
- Ensure non-functional requirements such as performance, availability, and resilience are met
- Conduct design reviews, manage technical debt, and maintain architectural quality standards
Cloud, Data & AI Enablement
- Architect secure cloud solutions on AWS and/or Azure, including identity, networking, storage, and container orchestration
- Design and integrate data pipelines supporting enterprise data platforms (data warehouse/lakehouse)
- Enable analytics and AI use cases with strong data governance practices
- Collaborate on MLOps frameworks, including model deployment, monitoring, and responsible AI practices
Security, Risk & Compliance
- Embed security-by-design principles including Zero Trust, encryption, and secrets management
- Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks such as GLBA, PCI, SOC, and internal audit standards
- Conduct architecture risk assessments and threat modeling to ensure secure solutions
Required Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in solution architecture within financial services or regulated industries
- Strong expertise in core banking systems, digital banking, and integration platforms
- Proven ability to design and deliver complex, enterprise-scale systems
- Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and modern architecture patterns
- Experience with APIs, event-driven systems, and data integration frameworks
- Strong understanding of security, compliance, and risk management practices
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with data platforms, analytics, and AI/ML solutions
- Familiarity with MLOps, feature stores, and model lifecycle management
- Experience supporting cloud modernization and digital transformation initiatives
- Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization technologies
- Experience working with vendor platforms and third-party integrations
- Ability to balance strategic architecture with hands-on technical execution
