A large Northeast regional bank is seeking an experienced Program Manager – Transformation Delivery to lead enterprise-wide strategic transformation initiatives. This role is responsible for overseeing large-scale, complex programs that drive operational modernization, technology transformation, and business process improvements across the organization.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, program governance, and stakeholder management capabilities, with proven experience delivering high-impact initiatives in dynamic and highly regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale transformation programs spanning multiple business units and technology platforms.
- Develop and manage comprehensive program plans including scope, schedules, budgets, resource allocation, governance structures, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate multiple interdependent projects and workstreams to ensure alignment, execution consistency, and successful delivery outcomes.
- Establish and maintain program governance frameworks including steering committees, executive reporting, escalation management, and performance tracking.
- Partner with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to define strategic objectives, key performance indicators, and program success criteria.
- Drive decision-making processes and facilitate resolution of complex issues and cross-organizational conflicts.
- Monitor overall program health, proactively identify risks and dependencies, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Manage program financials, budgeting, forecasting, and resource utilization to support delivery efficiency.
- Lead organizational change management activities to support successful adoption of new systems, processes, and operational models.
- Promote continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and applying best practices across the program portfolio.
- Communicate program updates, milestones, achievements, and risks to executive leadership and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise project management methodologies, governance standards, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 7+ years of program or project management experience with demonstrated success leading large-scale transformation initiatives.
- Proven experience managing enterprise programs with budgets exceeding $10 million and multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Strong understanding of program management methodologies, governance frameworks, and delivery best practices.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
- Excellent executive stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience using program management tools, reporting platforms, and collaboration technologies.
- PMP, PgMP, or equivalent project/program management certification preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Experience within financial services, banking, or other highly regulated industries.
- Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Background supporting enterprise technology transformation or digital modernization initiatives.
- Experience with organizational change management and transformation adoption strategies.
- Familiarity with business process reengineering and operational improvement initiatives.
- Strong leadership capabilities managing complex, enterprise-scale delivery environments.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive execution across matrixed organizations.
