For more than 30 years, Ben has helped financial institutions modernize complex technology environments, improve operations and make better enterprise technology decisions. His experience spans application development, infrastructure, operations management, vendor evaluation and large-scale transformation programs, giving him a practical understanding of how technology decisions impact every corner of a bank.
With a background that combines engineering discipline and executive leadership, Ben has led enterprise technology initiatives at institutions including Citibank, Bank Leumi and other leading financial organizations. Throughout his career, he has participated in numerous technology selection efforts, helping executive teams evaluate vendors, conduct fit-gap analyses, navigate RFP processes and select solutions that align with long-term business strategy rather than short-term feature lists.
At Citibank, Ben served as Application Development Director, overseeing more than 60 applications supporting Core Banking, customer communications, item processing, regulatory reporting and operational automation. He led geographically distributed teams across the United States and offshore development centers while directing major technology modernization initiatives, multiple data center migrations and strategic vendor negotiations that generated more than $10 million in recurring annual savings.
At Bank Leumi, Ben played a key leadership role in the bank’s re-automation program and core banking replacement initiative. His responsibilities included helping evaluate enterprise platforms, leading vendor fit-gap analysis and supporting solution selection for technologies including Temenos and Oracle Financials. Having worked on both the evaluation and implementation sides of major technology programs, Ben understands how to distinguish an impressive product demonstration from a solution that will truly support a bank’s long-term operational needs.
At Core System Partners, Ben advises financial institutions through every stage of technology transformation, from strategic planning and vendor evaluation through implementation and operational stabilization. His expertise includes core banking modernization, digital transformation, enterprise document management, item processing, compliance operations and post-implementation optimization. Clients value his ability to ask the right questions, challenge assumptions and translate technical complexity into practical business decisions that executives can act upon with confidence.
Ben holds advanced degrees in Applied Mathematics and began his career as a research associate at NASA. Outside of consulting, he enjoys studying political trends, economic history and the long-term forces that shape industries and societies.
“Known for helping banks separate great software demonstrations from great long-term technology decisions.”
