We are seeking an experienced API Integration Architect with deep MuleSoft expertise to support a high-impact project focused on core banking modernization. Working within a leading credit union environment, this role will play a pivotal part in designing, developing, and deploying robust API integrations across legacy systems and modern platforms. This position is critical to enabling seamless data exchange and system interoperability, ultimately driving business agility and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the architecture, design, and development of API integrations using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather integration requirements and translate them into scalable API solutions
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and security of APIs in production
  • Integrate with internal banking systems such as core banking platforms (e.g., FIS/Systematics) and external SaaS providers
  • Support system testing, debugging, and documentation of integration workflows
  • Align integration strategy with enterprise architecture standards and modernization goals
  • Provide mentorship to development teams on API and integration best practices

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of IT experience, with at least 5 years focused on API development and integration
  • Strong hands-on expertise with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including API Manager, Runtime Manager, and Design Center
  • Experience in financial services, preferably Large or Regional Banks
  • Excellent understanding of RESTful APIsevent-driven architecture, and OAuth 2.0 / JWT security standards
  • Proficiency in JavaRAML/OpenAPI specifications, and integration patterns
  • Strong communication skills and experience working cross-functionally with business and technical teams
  • English fluency required

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience integrating mainframe-based systems (e.g., FIS/Systematics)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in MuleSoft deployments
  • Exposure to data modelingETL tools, or cloud-native services
  • Agile delivery experience in a 12-month+ transformation program
  • MuleSoft certification(s) strongly preferred
