Our client, a dynamic U.S.-based retail bank, is undergoing a major modernization program, integrating third-party APIs with core platforms to streamline data and service delivery. As a Business Analyst focused on Integration and API Mapping, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical integration strategies. This role is instrumental in ensuring clear, structured communication between stakeholders and in translating functional requirements into accurate API mapping logic.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and document business requirements specific to system integration and API endpoints.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, and business SMEs to map third-party API fields to internal systems.
  • Create and maintain high-quality documentation, including field-level mapping specifications and transformation logic.
  • Support the MuleSoft integration team with accurate mapping logic for system implementation.
  • Participate in testing cycles to validate integration flows and mapping accuracy.
  • Identify risks or gaps in requirements and proactively propose solutions.
  • Conduct impact assessments when changes are introduced to integration logic.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in banking or fintech environments.
  • Strong understanding of API-based integrations, with demonstrated experience in field mapping and data transformation logic.
  • Experience working in complex system environments (e.g., core banking, CRM, loan origination).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Experience working with geographically dispersed teams.
  • Familiarity with Agile project delivery methodologies.

Preferred Skills:

  • Exposure to MuleSoft or other enterprise integration platforms.
  • Prior involvement in integration projects between core banking systems and digital platforms.
  • Experience with data transformation tools or scripting is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret Swagger/OpenAPI specifications and JSON structures.
  • Experience with API security and authentication considerations (OAuth, JWT, etc.)
  • Contract duration familiarity: able to hit the ground running for fast-paced 6+ month engagements.

Work Arrangement:

Hybrid – Remote-first with some flexibility to join key workshops or sessions onsite as needed.
