A large Northeast regional bank is seeking a Business Architect to support assigned business lines and product delivery teams by aligning business strategy with enterprise technology solutions within a modern product operating framework.
This role serves as a strategic bridge between business and technology organizations, ensuring initiatives align with target-state architecture, operational goals, governance standards, and value realization objectives. The Business Architect will partner closely with technology leadership, product teams, security stakeholders, and risk management functions to drive enterprise delivery alignment while supporting regulatory, operational, and transformation priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the business architect for assigned business lines and product delivery teams, ensuring alignment between business strategy and technology solutions
- Partner with the Technology Line of Business Lead, Product Security Leader, and Business Unit Risk Manager (BURM) to translate strategic priorities into executable delivery artifacts
- Support Technology Review Board governance processes and gate approvals by ensuring alignment with target-state business architecture and enterprise standards
- Elicit, document, and maintain business architecture artifacts including:
- Business capabilities
- Value streams
- Business processes
- Functional and operational requirements
- Decompose business requirements into epics, features, and user stories aligned with platform and product roadmaps
- Facilitate alignment across stakeholders to ensure business process design, operational readiness, and regulatory compliance are embedded throughout the delivery lifecycle
- Act as a business advocate and architectural steward to ensure technology initiatives deliver measurable business outcomes
- Support governance, compliance, and enterprise risk management objectives across product delivery initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional business, product, technology, security, and risk teams to drive execution consistency and strategic alignment
- Ensure operational models, delivery frameworks, and transformation initiatives align with enterprise architecture and organizational objectives
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Technology, Finance, or related field
- Strong experience in business architecture, business analysis, enterprise transformation, or strategic delivery roles within banking or financial services
- Experience translating business strategies and operating models into technology and delivery roadmaps
- Strong understanding of business architecture methodologies including capabilities, value streams, process mapping, and requirements decomposition
- Experience working within product operating models and Agile delivery environments
- Ability to decompose requirements into epics, features, and user stories aligned with delivery objectives
- Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills
- Knowledge of governance, risk, compliance, and enterprise delivery standards
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional technology, product, security, and risk organizations
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities
Preferred Skills:
- Experience supporting enterprise banking transformation or modernization initiatives
- Familiarity with Technology Review Boards, governance frameworks, and enterprise architecture standards
- Strong understanding of banking operations, regulatory requirements, and operational readiness processes
- Experience with Agile, SAFe, or product-based delivery methodologies
- Ability to drive strategic alignment across business and technology organizations
- Experience working in highly regulated financial services environments
