A large Northeast regional bank, is seeking an experienced Business Architect to drive strategic business transformation initiatives through the alignment of business capabilities with technology solutions. This role is critical in bridging business strategy and execution, enabling the organization to optimize processes, improve efficiency, and deliver scalable, future-ready solutions within a regional banking environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with stakeholders to understand strategic objectives, business needs, and operational challenges
- Develop and maintain business architecture artifacts, including capability maps, value streams, and process models
- Analyze current-state processes and design future-state solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Facilitate workshops and cross-functional working sessions to gather requirements and build alignment
- Collaborate with enterprise and solution architects to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Identify capability gaps, dependencies, and opportunities for transformation
- Develop business cases, roadmaps, and strategic initiatives
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture frameworks and organizational goals
- Provide guidance on industry best practices and emerging trends in business architecture
- Support change management initiatives and communicate transformation benefits
- Participate in governance processes to ensure adherence to architectural standards
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in business architecture, business analysis, or consulting roles
- Strong understanding of business architecture frameworks (e.g., BIZBOK, TOGAF, Zachman)
- Proven experience in business process modeling and improvement methodologies
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent facilitation and stakeholder engagement capabilities
- Experience with business architecture tools and modeling software
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Knowledge of Agile and traditional project management methodologies
- Experience within a regional banking or financial services environment preferred
Preferred Skills:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Business architecture certification (e.g., Certified Business Architect)
- Experience in financial services and regulatory environments
- Knowledge of compliance requirements and governance frameworks
- Experience with digital transformation initiatives
- Familiarity with data architecture and information management concepts
- Experience supporting long-term strategic transformation programs
