An international bank with a U.S. presence is executing a high-impact payments system integration program, merging platforms across ACH, PeP+, and core banking systems. The bank is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer / Release Manager to lead CI/CD governance, release coordination, and deployment execution throughout this mission-critical migration.
This role is central to ensuring secure, reliable, and compliant releases across multiple environments, supporting parallel processing, cutover readiness, and operational stability during integration.
The DevOps Engineer / Release Manager will report to the Head of Technology for the Payments Program and serve as the primary owner of release strategy, automation, and deployment discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting end-to-end payments integration, including PeP+ systems.
- Manage release schedules, version control practices, and rollback strategies across environments.
- Collaborate with developers, QA, and infrastructure teams to align release cadence with testing and cutover windows.
- Automate deployment of integration services, infrastructure components, and legacy connectors.
- Track and manage environment configurations, build artifacts, and deployment checklists.
- Support dry runs, parallel processing, and cutover events by owning release timelines and incident response.
- Establish release readiness protocols and coordinate post-deployment validation efforts.
- Ensure release governance meets regulatory and operational standards required in banking.
- Document runbooks and DevOps best practices for long-term operational use.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in DevOps, release management, or infrastructure automation.
- Demonstrated expertise in CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, and scripting (Shell, Python, Groovy).
- Experience deploying and managing banking or financial systems, ideally involving payment rails (ACH, Wires, SWIFT, PeP+).
- Deep knowledge of version control systems (Git, Bitbucket) and release governance practices.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across application layers, containers, and APIs.
- Experience supporting mission-critical releases under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with hybrid infrastructure (on-prem + cloud) and container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Excellent communication and coordination skills across cross-functional stakeholders.
- English language proficiency.

- Background in banking compliance and operational risk controls.
- Experience supporting payment system cutovers during mergers or platform migrations.
Work Arrangement
Hybrid (mostly remote) — occasional onsite presence as needed.
Location

- Duration: 6–9 months.
