A leading U.S. banking institution is seeking a highly experienced Director, Domain Architect to join its Architecture Engineering team. This strategic leadership role is responsible for defining and driving enterprise architecture initiatives that support scalable, secure, and innovative technology solutions across the organization.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in enterprise architecture, systems integration, and financial services technology while collaborating closely with engineering, data, and business stakeholders to shape the organization’s technology roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the research, design, and implementation of enterprise architecture frameworks, patterns, and technology standards.
- Define solution architecture strategies for domain-specific initiatives and enterprise transformation programs.
- Collaborate with business architects, application architects, database architects, and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable technology solutions.
- Establish and promote architecture governance, design methodologies, standards, and best practices across the organization.
- Drive enterprise data architecture planning, integration, and deployment initiatives to maximize business value from data assets.
- Provide strategic architecture consulting and technical guidance on complex enterprise initiatives.
- Support modernization efforts involving APIs, event-driven architectures, cloud integration, and distributed systems.
- Ensure high-quality delivery of architecture and engineering services across multiple business domains.
- Contribute to enterprise innovation initiatives, including AI-enabled proof-of-concept applications and emerging technologies.
- Lead, mentor, and develop architecture and engineering talent while supporting organizational growth and operational planning.
- Participate in strategic planning, budgeting, and resource forecasting activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- 12+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or senior technology leadership roles.
- Strong background designing and implementing enterprise-scale technology solutions.
- Experience leading enterprise architecture governance and strategic technology initiatives.
- Proven leadership experience managing technical teams, recruiting talent, and mentoring engineering professionals.
- Strong understanding of integration technologies including APIs, Kafka, MQ, and cloud-to-cloud connectivity models.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence technical and business leaders.
- Experience working within complex, highly regulated enterprise environments.
Preferred Skills
- Experience within the securities, banking, or financial services industry.
- Knowledge of financial investment services domains such as Alternatives, Registered Funds, ETFs, Asset Owners, or Investor Solutions.
- Expertise in modern cloud-native architectures and distributed systems design.
- Hands-on experience building proof-of-concept applications using AI tools and emerging technologies.
- Familiarity with enterprise data architecture and governance frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving and strategic planning capabilities.
- Experience supporting large-scale modernization and digital transformation initiatives.
