A large national consumer bank is seeking a Director of Project Management to lead strategic initiatives across US and Canadian Markets.

Overview
This role will be responsible for overseeing complex, cross-functional projects that drive business transformation and operational excellence across North American markets. The Director will partner with senior leadership to define project scope, manage resources, and ensure successful delivery of critical initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project management for strategic initiatives spanning US and Canadian operations
- Partner with executive stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and success criteria
- Develop comprehensive project plans including timelines, resource allocation, risk mitigation strategies, and budget management
- Manage cross-functional teams across multiple geographies and business units
- Drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups including technology, operations, compliance, and business partners
- Establish and maintain project governance frameworks, reporting cadences, and communication protocols
- Identify and escalate risks, issues, and dependencies in a timely manner
- Monitor project performance against key milestones and deliverables
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Mentor and develop project management talent within the organization
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 10+ years of progressive project management experience in financial services
- Proven track record leading large-scale, complex initiatives with budgets exceeding $10M
- Experience managing projects across multiple countries and regulatory environments
- Strong understanding of banking operations, products, and regulatory requirements
- Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority
- PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification strongly preferred
- Proficiency with project management tools and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
- Experience with change management and organizational transformation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Compensation: $187,300-$235,100
