A large national consumer bank is seeking a Director, Project Management for its Encore initiative.
Location: McLean, VA, Richmond, VA, New York, NY
This leadership role will drive strategic project execution and delivery across the organization’s technology and business transformation initiatives. The Director will be responsible for managing complex, enterprise level programs that align with business objectives and deliver measurable value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee multiple large scale, cross functional projects from initiation through delivery
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation
- Partner with senior stakeholders across technology, product, operations, and business units to ensure alignment and successful outcomes
- Establish and maintain project governance frameworks, including risk management, issue resolution, and change control processes
- Drive adoption of project management best practices and methodologies across teams
- Manage and mentor project managers and team members to build organizational capability
- Provide executive level reporting on project status, risks, and key milestones
- Facilitate decision making and remove obstacles to ensure timely delivery
- Ensure projects meet quality standards and deliver expected business value
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 10+ years of progressive project management experience in financial services or technology environments
- Proven track record of successfully delivering large scale, complex initiatives
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
- PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification strongly preferred
- Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities with executive audiences
- Experience managing budgets and resources across multiple concurrent projects
- Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results in a fast paced environment
Compensation: $206,000 – $256,500
