A large national consumer bank is seeking a Director, Technical Program Management to lead technical programs that deliver on critical business goals and build large scale products and platforms.

About the team: The Enterprise Platforms Technology (EPTech) group comprises many of the organization’s most important enterprise platforms. This team establishes practices for building technology solutions across the company and delivers capabilities that exemplify those practices. As a Director TPM in EPTech, you will leverage your technical acumen and engineering experience to drive the strategy and execution of large scale, technically complex, cross functional programs aligned with the bank’s business priorities. You’ll break down complexity and organizational silos, influence roadmaps, dive deep into system design and architecture, make technical tradeoffs, drive platform consolidation, and identify, resolve, define, and escalate mitigation plans for hard technical dependencies.
Our TPM Directors have:
Strong technical backgrounds (ideally building highly scalable platforms, products, or services) with the ability to proactively identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the delivery life cycle
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
Excellent problem solving and influencing skills
A quantitative approach to problem solving and a collaborative implementer mindset toward holistic solutions; a systems thinker
Experience as a TPM leader to grow and develop a team of TPMs, while also building the foundations for the TPM practice
Ability to simplify the technically complex and drive well educated decisions across product, engineering, design, and data science representatives
Deep focus on execution, follow through, accountability, and results
Exceptional cross team collaboration; able to work across different functions, organizations, and reporting boundaries to get the job done
Highly tuned emotional intelligence, good listener, and deep seated empathy for teams and partners
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
At least 7 years of experience managing technical programs
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering)
MBA or Master’s Degree in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering) or equivalent experience
7+ years of experience designing and building data intensive solutions using distributed computing
3+ years of experience in building distributed systems and highly available services using cloud computing services and architecture, preferably using AWS
3+ years experience building highly scalable mobile products and platforms
3+ years of experience with Agile delivery
3+ years of experience delivering large and complex programs where you own the business or technical vision, collaborate with large cross functional teams, secure commitments on deliverables, and unblock teams to land business impact
3+ years of experience in building systems and solutions within a highly regulated environment
