A regional bank headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona is seeking a seasoned Enterprise Architect to lead strategy, design, and planning initiatives for its core banking transformation program. This role is critical to shaping the bank’s future-state architecture, modernizing legacy Systematics (FIS) infrastructure, and aligning technology capabilities with long-term business objectives.
You will partner closely with technology leaders, business stakeholders, and vendor teams to evaluate legacy systems, define the target architecture, and guide enterprise-level transformation across core, digital, cloud, data, and security domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the bank’s enterprise architecture roadmap with a focus on core banking modernization.
- Assess current-state system dependencies, integration layers, and technology risks.
- Lead design and planning activities across core platforms, middleware, cloud, and digital ecosystems.
- Partner with executive leadership to ensure architecture aligns with strategic business goals.
- Document current- and future-state architectures, including data flows and technical reference models.
- Support solution design decisions, vendor assessments, and platform evaluation efforts.
- Advise on hybrid cloud adoption, data architecture standards, and security patterns.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise or solution architecture roles.
- Hands-on experience with Systematics (FIS) or similar legacy core banking systems.
- Working knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman.
- Strong background designing hybrid integration environments (core, digital, API, and cloud).
- Excellent executive-level communication and presentation skills.
- English language proficiency.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with large-scale banking transformation initiatives.
- Background integrating modern platforms with legacy core infrastructure.
- Familiarity with FIS Modern Banking Platform and contemporary API middleware (MuleSoft, Kafka).
- Exposure to regulatory, risk, compliance, and audit frameworks in financial institutions.
- Experience with AWS/Azure, data and security architecture patterns, and M&A–driven modernization.
Work Arrangement
Hybrid — 3 days onsite weekly in Phoenix, AZ.
Location

Contract Details
- Duration: 6–12 months with potential extension.
