We are seeking an experienced Hogan Core Developer to support a critical data conversion stream for a major core modernization project. This role is integral to a regional bank’s transformation initiative and will involve extracting, transforming, and validating high-volume core data. The position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to contribute technical expertise to a highly visible modernization effort.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and enhancement of conversion routines for extracting and transforming Hogan core banking data
- Design and implement ETL solutions that align with data quality, integrity, and timeline goals
- Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and QA teams to ensure requirements are met with precision
- Conduct unit testing, assist with system/integration testing, and support validation efforts through go-live
- Support parallel runs and dress rehearsals during conversion cycles
- Document technical artifacts including data mapping, job flow, error handling, and exception management processes
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in Hogan mainframe development (CICS, COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2)
- Proven track record with large-scale data conversion efforts involving Hogan core (Deposits, Loans, CIF)
- Experience in the banking domain, preferably with a U.S. regional or mid-tier bank
- Strong understanding of batch processing, file handling, and legacy job control techniques
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- English fluency (spoken and written)
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with modern ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, DataStage) alongside mainframe data
- Background in Hogan modernization, deconversion, or platform replacement efforts
- Familiarity with Agile project environments and cross-functional collaboration
- Exposure to industry-standard data validation practices and tooling
- Ability to operate independently in remote or hybrid setups over long-term engagements
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (On-site 2–3 days/week in Columbus, Ohio)
Location: Columbus, OH area or commutable distance preferred
