A major national bank is seeking a Mainframe Senior Storage Architect to define the architectural vision and solutions that support the strategic outcomes of the business. This role involves designing for client resiliency across mainframe storage infrastructure, collaborating with stakeholders and service providers, and leading refreshes/upgrades across the bank’s mainframe storage environment. You will work in a large, diverse, and dynamic storage environment aligned to the business’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Define an architectural vision and solution that supports the strategic outcomes of the business.
- Define the target operating environment for mainframe storage.
- Design for client resiliency across mainframe storage infrastructure.
- Assist with solution design for mainframe storage disk, engineering, and virtual tape.
- Define non-functional requirements for storage systems.
- Collaborate with others to design, develop, and set strategy for mainframe storage architecture in a large, diverse, and dynamic storage environment.
- Work with stakeholders and service providers aligned to the business’s strategic objectives.
- Evaluate the impact of strategic design decisions on storage architecture.
- Contribute to the architecture roadmap for mainframe storage.
- Lead refreshes/upgrades inclusive of Brocade directors/switches, Hitachi DASD, and IBM Virtual Tape (TS7700s).
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience leading and managing multiple competing and dynamic deliverables with Mainframe Storage.
- Experience with refreshes/upgrades inclusive of Brocade directors/switches, Hitachi DASD, and IBM Virtual Tape (TS7700s).
- Storage Area Network (SAN) replication design and configuration experience.
- Experience defining architectural vision and solution design.
- Experience with non-functional requirements definition.
- Knowledge of client resiliency design principles.
Compensation
Estimated base salary: $140,000 – $185,000 per year, plus performance bonus. Total compensation estimated at $165,000 – $235,000.
