A leading U.S. regional bank undergoing a core banking transformation to Fiserv DNA is seeking an Ontology Consultant to support the development of a semantic foundation that aligns with their enterprise-wide canonical data model. This role is pivotal in ensuring data consistency, interoperability, and regulatory compliance across key banking domains during a high-impact transformation initiative.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with enterprise architects and data governance leads to structure banking ontologies using OWL/RDF.
  • Model and maintain semantic structures for core banking domains such as customers, products, accounts, and transactions.
  • Ensure semantic models support regulatory compliance and align with industry standards like FIBO and ISO 20022.
  • Utilize tools such as ProtégéSKOS, and SPARQL to develop and query ontological models.
  • Integrate semantic models with enterprise metadata repositories (e.g., CollibraInformatica).
  • Translate complex technical concepts into frameworks usable by non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support the canonical data model development for the Fiserv DNA platform.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum Mid-to-Senior level experience in semantic modeling or related data architecture roles.
  • Proven understanding of banking domain concepts such as customers, transactions, and compliance.
  • Proficiency in OWL, RDF, SPARQL, and ontology modeling tools (e.g., Protégé).
  • Clear communication skills to articulate complex models to a broad stakeholder base.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. (U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders only).
  • Strong command of English in professional communication.

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience with Fiserv DNA data structures is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard ontologies such as FIBOISO 20022, or other financial metadata standards.
  • Exposure to enterprise metadata repositories like Collibra or Informatica.
  • Experience aligning ontologies to regulatory requirements and industry frameworks.
  • Understanding of both retail and commercial banking structures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in consulting engagements of 12+ months or more.

Work Arrangement:

Hybrid – Requires 3 days/week onsite in either Long Island or Manhattan. Candidates must be available for regular in-person collaboration.

Candidates outside the metro area must demonstrate ability to reliably commute or relocate.


Contract Details:

  • Contract Duration: Initial 12 months with strong likelihood of extension
