An international bank with a U.S. presence is seeking a senior-level PeP+ Developer to support a major payments modernization initiative. This role plays a critical part in upgrading the bank’s PeP+ environment, ensuring the seamless migration of high-volume ACH, Fedwire, and international payment processes to the latest supported platform version.
You will collaborate closely with technical teams, business analysts, compliance groups, and global stakeholders to modernize mission-critical payments infrastructure while meeting evolving regulatory, security, and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead or support PeP+ version upgrade and end-to-end migration activities.
- Modify, test, and maintain batch and real-time payment processes (ACH, Fedwire, SWIFT).
- Analyze and document payment flows, dependencies, and interfaces across systems.
- Collaborate with technical and business teams throughout development and QA cycles.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues during testing, deployment, and post-migration phases.
- Ensure alignment with compliance and regulatory standards, including ISO 20022 readiness.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to knowledge transfer and production support.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience developing with PeP+ (ACI Worldwide).
- Strong understanding of U.S. payment systems and messaging formats (ACH, SWIFT, Fedwire).
- Mainframe development expertise, including COBOL, JCL, VSAM.
- Experience with PeP+ migrations or version upgrades.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working in cross-functional teams.
- English language proficiency.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with ISO 20022, FedNow, or RTP payment systems.
- Experience collaborating with international banking teams.
- Background in payments system modernization or high-impact migration projects.
- Knowledge of Agile or hybrid development methodologies.

Fully Remote (U.S.-based).
Location
Role supports the bank’s U.S. operations, based out of Chicago, Illinois, but performed remotely.
Contract Details
- Duration: 6+ months, with possible extension.
- Rate: DOE (Depends on Experience).
- Expected Start Date: ASAP.
