A major national bank is seeking a visionary Principal Architect to shape the future of Banking Operations technology. In this strategic and highly influential role, you will establish and drive the target-state architecture across a broad ecosystem of platforms and products that power Consumer Operations. Reporting directly to the Head of Architecture, you will partner closely with Engineering, Business, and Product leaders to architect end-to-end solutions that elevate performance, simplify complexity, and enhance customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and drive target state architecture for Banking Operations across a broad ecosystem of platforms and products.
- Define the target state architecture vision with forward-looking architecture principles and modern technology.
- Based on understanding of current state architecture, define an architecture roadmap to realize target state.
- Rationalize applications and domains in Consumer Operations with Enterprise solutions.
- Adapt to and influence Consumer Operations Technology and Enterprise technology strategies.
- Contribute to Consumer Operations SRE strategy.
- Drive efforts to ensure resiliency, fault tolerance, and performance of Consumer Operations Technology.
- Contribute to NFR (non-functional requirements) requirements.
- Evaluate cost efficiency of new platforms.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Business, and Product leaders to architect end-to-end solutions.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of architect experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- Knowledge and experience with core banking systems of record, architecture, and the financial services industry.
- Experience in Cloud, Data, Domain Driven Design, Architecture Frameworks, Product Thinking, and Agile Architecture strategy.
- Hands-on architecture expertise utilizing modern tech stacks such as API and microservices-based architecture.
- Experience defining target-state architecture and roadmaps for large-scale enterprise systems.
Work Arrangement
Hybrid — 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.
