A credit union serving US military families is seeking a Principal Project Manager to join their team.

About the Role
The Principal Project Manager will lead complex, enterprise-level projects and initiatives that drive strategic business objectives. This role requires a seasoned professional who can manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously while ensuring alignment with organizational goals and stakeholder expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage large-scale, complex projects from initiation through closure
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, resources, and risk management strategies
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders across multiple departments and business units
- Establish and maintain project governance frameworks and reporting structures
- Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
- Facilitate communication between technical teams, business stakeholders, and executive leadership
- Drive continuous improvement in project management methodologies and practices
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior project managers and team members
- Manage vendor relationships and third-party resources as needed
- Prepare and present executive-level status reports and presentations
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
- 10+ years of project management experience, with at least 5 years managing enterprise-level projects
- PMP certification required; additional certifications (Agile, SAFe, etc.) highly desirable
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex, multi-million dollar projects
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience in financial services or credit union environment preferred
- Proficiency with project management software and tools
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Compensation: $111.6K/yr – $163.1K/yr
