A tier-one global bank is seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager to serve as Chief of Staff.
Location: On-site – Jersey City, NJ
This strategic leadership role combines technical program management expertise with executive-level operational oversight. The Principal Technical Program Manager will serve as a trusted advisor and operational leader, driving critical initiatives across the technology organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as Chief of Staff to senior technology leadership, providing strategic counsel and operational support
- Lead cross-functional technical programs of significant scope and complexity
- Drive alignment across multiple technology teams and business stakeholders
- Manage executive communications, presentations, and strategic planning processes
- Oversee program governance, risk management, and delivery excellence
- Facilitate decision-making processes and ensure follow-through on key initiatives
- Coordinate strategic planning cycles, resource allocation, and portfolio management
- Build and maintain relationships with senior leaders across technology and business units
- Identify and resolve organizational impediments to program success
- Drive continuous improvement in operational processes and program delivery methodologies
Required Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in technical program management within large-scale enterprise environments
- Proven track record of managing complex, multi-year technology initiatives
- Strong executive presence with ability to influence senior leadership
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Deep understanding of software development lifecycle and modern delivery practices
- Experience working in highly regulated industries, preferably financial services
- Demonstrated ability to navigate complex organizational structures
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (MBA or Master’s in technical field)
- Previous Chief of Staff or similar strategic advisory experience
- Experience with Agile, DevOps, and cloud transformation initiatives
- PMP, PgMP, or equivalent program management certification
