A tier-one global bank is seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager to serve as Chief of Staff.

Location: On-site – Jersey City, NJ

This strategic leadership role combines technical program management expertise with executive-level operational oversight. The Principal Technical Program Manager will serve as a trusted advisor and operational leader, driving critical initiatives across the technology organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Chief of Staff to senior technology leadership, providing strategic counsel and operational support
  • Lead cross-functional technical programs of significant scope and complexity
  • Drive alignment across multiple technology teams and business stakeholders
  • Manage executive communications, presentations, and strategic planning processes
  • Oversee program governance, risk management, and delivery excellence
  • Facilitate decision-making processes and ensure follow-through on key initiatives
  • Coordinate strategic planning cycles, resource allocation, and portfolio management
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior leaders across technology and business units
  • Identify and resolve organizational impediments to program success
  • Drive continuous improvement in operational processes and program delivery methodologies

Required Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in technical program management within large-scale enterprise environments
  • Proven track record of managing complex, multi-year technology initiatives
  • Strong executive presence with ability to influence senior leadership
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Deep understanding of software development lifecycle and modern delivery practices
  • Experience working in highly regulated industries, preferably financial services
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex organizational structures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (MBA or Master’s in technical field)
  • Previous Chief of Staff or similar strategic advisory experience
  • Experience with Agile, DevOps, and cloud transformation initiatives
  • PMP, PgMP, or equivalent program management certification

Compensation: $190, 000 – $260, 000
