A $2.9B commercial bank located in Texas is seeking a Project Manager to plan, execute, and deliver multiple projects supporting the bank’s technology strategy.

Position Summary
The Project Manager will act as the central coordinator between business leaders, technology teams, vendors, and various stakeholders within the bank to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, within budget, and in compliance with banking regulations. The ideal candidate has proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a solid understanding of both Waterfall and Agile ways of working. They are adaptable and capable of leading small, medium, and large scale initiatives, effectively tailoring their approach based on project complexity, stakeholder needs, and delivery methodology.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Project Planning and Initiation
Define project scope, objectives, success criteria, and delivery approach (Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid). Develop and maintain an integrated project plan that outlines milestones, timelines, dependencies, and resource needs. Ensure alignment between business goals, technical approaches, and regulatory considerations.
Execution and Delivery Management
Lead day to day execution of the project plan, ensuring work progresses as scheduled. Coordinate internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders to keep delivery on track. Adapt delivery rigor based on project size, risk, and complexity. Ensure deliverables meet agreed upon quality standards.
Stakeholder and Communication Management
Act as the central point of coordination between business leaders, technology teams, vendors, and partners. Facilitate regular status meetings and provide clear, concise updates on progress, risks, and decisions. Escalate issues appropriately and drive timely resolution.
Scope, Schedule and Budget Control
Manage scope to prevent uncontrolled changes and ensure alignment with approved objectives. Track project timelines, milestones, and budget, taking corrective action when variances occur. Lead change control and change request processes when adjustments are required.
Risk and Issue Management
Proactively identify, document, and manage project risks and issues. Maintain risk registers and ensure mitigation and response strategies are defined and tracked. Ensure risks are regularly reviewed and communicated with stakeholders.
Governance and Compliance
Ensure projects follow the bank’s standards, governance expectations, and internal policies. Maintain required project documentation and audit ready artifacts. Ensure adherence to regulatory, security, and compliance requirements relevant to banking and technology initiatives.
Vendor and Partner Coordination
Serve as the primary liaison with vendors and implementation partners. Ensure vendors deliver according to statements of work, timelines, and quality expectations. Track vendor dependencies, deliverables, and risks.
Reporting and Executive Visibility
Provide accurate, timely project status updates to leadership and relevant stakeholders.
