An international bank with U.S. operations is seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead its modernization and migration effort for the PeP+ payments platform. This role is central to coordinating a high-impact, compliance-driven upgrade across ACH, wire, and SWIFT payments channels.
Reporting to the PMO and Head of Operations, the Project Manager will oversee cross-functional teams spanning development, compliance, operations, and vendor partners to ensure a successful and timely transition to the upgraded PeP+ environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning, coordination, and execution of the PeP+ upgrade and migration program.
- Drive cross-functional alignment across internal engineering, operations, compliance, and vendor teams.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and testing cycles to ensure on-time execution.
- Prepare and maintain clear project documentation, action logs, and migration status reporting.
- Deliver weekly status reports and updates to senior leadership and PMO executives.
- Identify risks, escalate blockers, and recommend actionable mitigation strategies.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management experience in banking or payments technology.
- Strong background with payment platforms such as PeP+, ACH, Fedwire, or SWIFT.
- Understanding of mainframe environments and legacy platform migrations.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-team coordination skills.
- Experience reporting into senior leadership, including C-level and operations executives.
- Demonstrated success delivering complex, regulated projects on time.
- English language proficiency.
Preferred Skills
- PMP certification or equivalent project management training.
- Knowledge of ISO 20022, FedNow, RTP, or payments modernization trends.
- Experience with regulatory compliance and vendor management in financial services.
- Familiarity with hybrid Agile/Waterfall project delivery methodologies.
Work Arrangement
Fully Remote (U.S.-based candidates).
Location
Supports operations in Chicago, Illinois, but the role may be performed remotely within the U.S.

- Duration: 6 months, with extension likely.
