A New York commercial bank is seeking a Senior Director, Technology & Digital Platforms to lead all software development, technology infrastructure, data engineering, and AI innovation.

The Role: The Senior Director, Technology & Digital Platforms will serve as the senior leader responsible for all software development, technology infrastructure, data engineering, and AI innovation.
Responsibilities:
Own the full software lifecycle including architecture, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Lead the design and evolution of applications and internal digital tools.
Establish engineering best practices, coding standards, and modern development methodologies.
Drive innovation in automation, cloud services, AI/ML, and data driven product capabilities.
Partner with product and business teams to translate needs into scalable software solutions.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory, privacy, and security standards.
Conduct regular risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies across software and hardware.
Implement KPIs and operational metrics to measure system performance, uptime, and delivery velocity.
Oversee technology budgets, forecasting, and resource planning.
Establish governance frameworks for software releases, infrastructure changes, and security controls.
Develop a multi year technology roadmap aligned with business goals.
Identify emerging technologies that can create competitive advantage.
Serve as a strategic advisor to the executive team on technology investments and priorities.
Prepare the organization for scale through improved architecture, automation, and process maturity.
Qualifications:
10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, technology operations, or systems architecture.
Deep expertise in software languages such as Python, including modern frameworks and tooling.
Strong experience designing, building, and integrating APIs, with a preference for RESTful API architectures.
Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across software and hardware domains.
Experience implementing cybersecurity frameworks and managing risk across software and hardware environments.
Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic planning skills.
Compensation: $180000 – $225000/yr
