We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead a high-priority core banking system transformationfor a Delaware-based credit union. Reporting directly to the CIO, this role is instrumental in overseeing end-to-end delivery of the transformation, managing multiple vendors, coordinating internal teams, and ensuring timely, compliant execution of all technical and operational components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full lifecycle of the core banking replacement project, including planning, execution, governance, and delivery.
- Act as the primary liaison between the core vendor, internal teams, and the CIO’s office.
- Oversee dependencies across lending, deposits, operations, digital channels, and reporting.
- Maintain project timelines, scope, and resource allocation, escalating risks and mitigation plans as needed.
- Coordinate activities for dry runs, conversion weekend planning, and go-live execution.
- Produce detailed reporting and dashboards for steering committees and executive stakeholders.
- Ensure the transformation meets compliance, data integrity, and business continuity standards.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of project/program management experience, including at least 5 years leading banking or credit union system implementations.
- Strong understanding of core banking platforms (e.g., Symitar, Jack Henry, DNA, FIS).
- Experience managing technology transformation in regulated financial environments.
- Proven ability to coordinate multi-vendor delivery and executive-level stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and leadership skills in high-pressure project environments.
Preferred Skills:
- PMP or comparable certification.
- Familiarity with PMO governance frameworks and tools such as ClickUp, Jira, or MS Project.
- Experience delivering projects in a credit union setting.
- Strong grasp of compliance, data migration, and member impact considerations during core transitions.
Work Arrangement:
Hybrid – Primarily remote with onsite presence required for conversion readiness and go-live support.
