A tier-one global bank is seeking a Senior Lead Architect, Solutions Architecture to join its Consumer Community Banking Payments team. This role is critical in shaping the future-state architecture for payment platforms and driving significant business impact through secure, scalable, and innovative technology solutions. The ideal candidate will provide architectural leadership across multiple domains while guiding engineering teams in the delivery of high-quality software applications and platform products.
Key Responsibilities:
Architecture Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and drive high-quality architecture solutions for software applications and platform products
- Influence and shape target-state architecture across Consumer Community Banking and Payments platforms
- Represent product families within technical governance bodies and architecture review forums
- Evaluate current and emerging technologies to recommend future-state solutions
Technical Governance & Standards
- Provide feedback and recommendations to improve architecture governance practices
- Ensure adherence to enterprise architecture standards, frameworks, and SDLC practices
- Guide technical teams, vendors, and contractors on architecture and engineering best practices
Engineering & Solution Delivery
- Develop secure, scalable, and production-ready code solutions
- Review, troubleshoot, and debug code written by engineering teams
- Drive technical decisions that impact application functionality, product design, and operational processes
- Support operational stability, performance, and resiliency across platforms
Innovation & Technology Enablement
- Advocate for adoption of cloud-native architectures and emerging technologies
- Influence peers and stakeholders to consider leading-edge technologies and engineering practices
- Serve as a subject matter expert across architecture, cloud, AI/ML, or related domains
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with business, product, and engineering stakeholders to align technology solutions with business goals
- Contribute to engineering culture through mentorship, collaboration, and knowledge sharing
- Promote a culture of diversity, inclusion, innovation, and continuous improvement
Required Qualifications:
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages and software architectures
- Strong understanding of software architecture principles, applications, and technical processes
- Experience with cloud-native technologies and distributed systems
- Ability to independently solve complex design and functionality challenges
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Preferred Skills:
- Cloud certification (AWS, Azure, GCP, or equivalent)
- Experience in fintech or banking, particularly within payments ecosystems
- Knowledge of modern architecture domains including AI/ML, mobile, and cloud platforms
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Familiarity with enterprise SDLC frameworks and governance models
- Experience influencing enterprise-wide architecture and engineering decisions
