We’re seeking a Senior PEP (Payment Execution Platform) Developer to support a large-scale regulatory compliance and modernization initiative within a major U.S. bank. This role will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing the Payment Execution Platform while ensuring alignment with evolving regulatory requirements. The position is best suited for candidates with a strong track record in mainframe development, payments processing, and collaborative delivery within highly regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain payment-related components within the PEP ecosystem, ensuring compliance with regulatory mandates.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and compliance teams to gather and refine requirements for payment workflows.
  • Implement batch and real-time payment functionality with precision and stability.
  • Perform detailed unit testing and support integration testing phases.
  • Troubleshoot issues in production and QA environments, managing incidents and proposing permanent fixes.
  • Maintain documentation aligned with internal controls and audit-readiness standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Seniority Level: Senior (10+ years relevant experience)
  • Bank Type: U.S. Commercial Bank
  • Proven experience developing in PEP (Payment Execution Platform) environments, including COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and related technologies.
  • Deep understanding of U.S. payment systems, regulatory compliance (e.g., Reg E, AML), and settlement processes.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills to work across IT and business teams.
  • English fluency required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Exposure to ISO 20022 integration and modernization of legacy payment systems.
  • Experience with modernization initiatives involving mainframe-to-microservice transitions.
  • Familiarity with tools like ServiceNowJIRA, and code versioning via Endevor or Git.
  • Background in data conversion or payment modernization programs is highly beneficial due to the nature of the regulatory project.
