A regional bank in the Midwest is planning a strategic core banking platform migration to TCS BaNCS and is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead this enterprise-wide transformation initiative. This is a high-visibility, long-term engagement requiring strong program leadership, stakeholder management, and proven expertise in core banking migrations.
The Project Manager will own end-to-end delivery of the migration program, coordinating internal teams, managing vendor relationships with TCS, and ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and with minimal operational disruption.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead overall project planning, execution, and delivery of the core banking migration to TCS BaNCS.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including business analysts, developers, QA, operations, and third-party vendors.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the bank and TCS implementation teams.
- Manage stakeholder communications across executive leadership, business units, IT, and external partners.
- Oversee data migration planning, system integration, parallel runs, dress rehearsals, and production cutover activities.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues throughout the migration lifecycle.
- Ensure alignment with regulatory, compliance, and audit requirements.
- Track and report on project milestones, budget, and KPIs to senior leadership.
- Drive change management and organizational readiness activities.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of project management experience in banking or financial services.
- Proven track record leading core banking migration or transformation programs.
- Strong understanding of core banking operations including deposits, loans, payments, and general ledger.
- Experience managing large, cross-functional project teams and vendor relationships.
- Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
- PMP, PgMP, or equivalent project management certification preferred.
- Fluent English proficiency (written and verbal).
Preferred Skills
- Experience with TCS BaNCS platform implementations or migrations.
- Background with regional or mid-size U.S. banks.
- Familiarity with data migration strategies, ETL processes, and conversion methodologies.
- Experience with Agile/hybrid project delivery frameworks.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for U.S. banking operations.
