A US bank is seeking a Solution Architect to play a critical role in designing, integrating, and evolving technology solutions that support business strategy, regulatory obligations, and customer experience goals. This role partners closely with business leaders, technology teams, vendors, and risk/compliance stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and cost-effective solutions across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will bring broad technical expertise, strong architectural leadership, and experience operating within highly regulated financial services environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Solution Architecture & Design
- Design end-to-end solution architectures that support business objectives, customer experience, and operational requirements
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, implementable solution designs
- Balance speed, quality, cost, and long-term sustainability in architecture decisions
- Evaluate build-versus-buy options considering scalability, risk, and total cost of ownership
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure architecture designs align with banking regulations, regulatory guidance, and data privacy requirements
- Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Information Security teams to embed security, controls, and auditability into solutions
- Participate in architecture governance reviews and ensure adherence to enterprise standards
Stakeholder Collaboration & Advisory
- Serve as a trusted technology advisor to business leaders, product owners, and delivery teams
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure cohesive and supportable solutions
- Support vendor evaluations and risk assessments with architectural input and documentation
Technology Strategy & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to simplify solutions, reduce technical debt, and improve operational efficiency
- Stay current with emerging technologies and trends relevant to banking and financial services
- Participate in project scoping, delivery planning, and risk mitigation activities
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience
- 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including 5+ years in a Solution Architect or similar role
- Broad experience designing and integrating end-to-end enterprise solutions
- Strong understanding of application architecture, integration patterns, infrastructure, and security principles
- Experience designing highly available, resilient, and secure systems in regulated environments
- Excellent written, verbal, and stakeholder communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Preferred Skills:
- Experience within banking or financial services organizations
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and governance models
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, APIs, and modern integration architectures
- Experience supporting digital transformation and modernization initiatives
- Ability to work across multiple technology and functional domains
- Strong vendor management and collaboration experience
