A regional bank is undertaking a major core banking transformation from FIS HORIZON to FIS IBS and is seeking an experienced Test Lead to oversee all testing activities across this complex migration. This role is critical to ensuring system stability, data integrity, and business readiness throughout the conversion lifecycle.
The Test Lead will work closely with the PMO, business leaders, IT teams, and vendor partners to design and execute a comprehensive testing strategy that supports a successful go-live and post-conversion stabilization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end testing strategy, planning, and execution for the HORIZON to IBS migration.
- Define and manage test cases across functional, integration, regression, and UAT phases.
- Coordinate testing activities across internal teams and external vendors.
- Manage test environments and test data requirements in partnership with IT teams.
- Track, manage, and report defects, test results, and resolution progress to project leadership.
- Ensure testing timelines align with overall project milestones and cutover plans.
- Support business users during UAT and establish structured feedback and triage processes.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in QA or test management roles within banking or financial services.
- Strong hands-on experience with core banking systems, specifically FIS HORIZON and/or FIS IBS.
- Proven experience leading testing efforts for large-scale system migrations or transformations.
- Familiarity with test management tools such as TestRail, JIRA, and Confluence.
- Strong understanding of integration and data-quality testing across retail and commercial banking products.
- Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
- English language proficiency.
Preferred Skills
- Experience testing data conversion, batch processing, and real-time integrations.
- Familiarity with downstream banking systems (digital banking, payments, general ledger, loans, reporting).
- Prior experience working directly with FIS or other core banking vendors during migration projects.
- Knowledge of SQL and test automation tools such as Selenium (a plus).
- ISTQB or similar QA certification preferred.
Work Arrangement
Hybrid — mostly remote, with occasional onsite presence for key project activities.
