A major Japanese global bank is seeking an experienced technology transformation leader to drive strategic initiatives across the enterprise. This role is critical in leading large-scale core banking transformation programs, enabling digital capabilities, and ensuring alignment between technology strategy and business objectives within a highly regulated financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of enterprise-wide technology transformation programs across multiple workstreams
- Establish and maintain program governance structures, including steering committees and reporting frameworks
- Define program roadmaps, milestones, and success metrics aligned with business strategy
- Manage program budgets, resources, and vendor relationships
- Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies through proactive stakeholder engagement
- Drive change management and communication strategies to support adoption and organizational readiness
- Collaborate with enterprise architecture, engineering, and product teams to ensure solution alignment
- Facilitate executive decision-making by presenting clear options, trade-offs, and recommendations
- Build and mentor high-performing program teams
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, risk frameworks, and internal controls
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field
- 10+ years of experience leading large-scale technology transformation programs
- Proven track record delivering enterprise initiatives such as cloud migration, application modernization, or digital transformation
- Strong expertise in program management methodologies and best practices
- Experience managing large budgets (e.g., $50M+) and complex resource structures
- Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience working within highly regulated industries, preferably financial services
- Fluency in English required
Preferred Skills:
- MBA or advanced degree
- PMP, PgMP, SAFe, or equivalent certifications
- Experience with Agile delivery and DevOps practices
- Knowledge of financial services products, operations, and regulatory environments
- Background in consulting or advisory roles
- Experience leading long-term core banking transformation initiatives
