A US bank is seeking a Vice President, Business Process Design to join its team.

Role Overview

The Vice President, Business Process Design will be responsible for leading the design, optimization, and implementation of critical business processes across the organization. This role requires a strategic thinker who can analyze complex workflows, identify inefficiencies, and develop innovative solutions that drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end business process design initiatives, from current state assessment through future state implementation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process improvement opportunities and develop comprehensive solutions
  • Design and document business processes using industry-standard methodologies and tools
  • Conduct detailed process analysis to identify bottlenecks, redundancies, and areas for automation
  • Develop process maps, workflows, and documentation to support implementation and ongoing operations
  • Partner with technology teams to ensure process designs align with system capabilities and technical requirements
  • Facilitate workshops and working sessions with stakeholders to gather requirements and validate process designs
  • Monitor and measure process performance, establishing key metrics and KPIs to track success
  • Drive change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of new processes
  • Mentor and guide junior team members on process design best practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in business process design, process improvement, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of process design methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Proven track record of leading complex process improvement initiatives
  • Experience with process mapping and documentation tools
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Financial services industry experience strongly preferred
  • Relevant certifications (Lean Six Sigma, BPM, etc.) a plus
