We are seeking a highly experienced Core Banking Architect to lead modernization efforts for a well-established North American retail bank. This role is critical to both sustaining legacy operations on FIS Systematics and enabling a future-focused architecture transition. As part of the Core Banking & Technology Architecture division, you will be instrumental in aligning enterprise systems with the bank’s innovation roadmap and evolving business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead architectural strategy for core banking modernization with deep involvement in both legacy and next-gen platforms.
- Assess and document current-state architecture, covering deposit, loan, and customer data ecosystems.
- Define and socialize future-state blueprints in collaboration with product, operations, and enterprise technology teams.
- Oversee platform lifecycle, including upgrade paths and technology refreshes, in partnership with FIS and internal vendor teams.
- Ensure architectural governance and consistency across system implementations and interfaces.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in core banking architecture, with a strong leadership track record.
- Proven expertise in FIS Systematics (mainframe) and core platforms supporting retail banking.
- Deep understanding of deposits, lending, and customer systems in a regulated banking environment.
- Experience aligning technology architecture with business priorities and modernization goals.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); bilingual proficiency is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with FIS Modern Banking Platform (MBP) or comparable cloud-native banking systems.
- Experience working in or leading cloud transformation and SOA/API-based integration projects.
- Background in integrating systems with payments, digital banking, and CRM platforms.
- Comfort working in a long-term modernization initiative with hybrid delivery teams.
