A regional bank in Chicago is seeking a Business Analyst to provide critical reporting and analytics support across its operations and core banking environment. This role is central to driving operational effectiveness, ensuring compliance, and enabling data-informed decision-making for leadership. As part of the operations and analytics function, you will bridge the gap between business needs and technical execution, delivering accurate, timely, and actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and distribute recurring and ad hoc operational reports.
- Analyze and interpret operational data to support compliance, efficiency, and executive decision-making.
- Collaborate across finance, operations, and IT teams to gather reporting requirements.
- Utilize SQL, Excel (advanced), and dashboard tools such as Power BI or Tableau to create impactful reports.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and alignment with regulatory standards.
- Recommend and implement improvements to reporting processes and data quality.
- Provide clear visual and written communications for executive presentations.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: Prior experience producing operational reports and analytics for business leadership.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel (advanced), SQL, and data visualization tools (Power BI or Tableau); familiarity with Access and reporting tools.
- Industry Knowledge: Banking or credit union operations experience preferred; familiarity with FIS Systematicsor other legacy core banking systems is an advantage.
- Language: Fluent in English.
- Work Authorization: U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders only.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong ability to clean, structure, and analyze large datasets.
- Experience working with both technical and business stakeholders to understand data needs.
- Knowledge of data warehouses and enterprise reporting frameworks.
- Ability to produce visually compelling and executive-ready presentations.
Work Arrangement:
Hybrid – 3 days on-site in Chicago, 2 days remote.
