A well-established regional bank in Chicago is launching a new initiative in response to the recently passed GENIUS Actand is seeking a Digital Asset Compliance & Risk Specialist. This role is vital in building the foundation for regulatory oversight and operational compliance within the bank’s evolving digital asset program. As a key contributor, you will help shape internal controls, develop risk frameworks, and support cross-functional teams navigating a dynamic regulatory landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of regulatory compliance initiatives related to digital assets under the GENIUS Act.
- Monitor and report on blockchain and digital asset activity using tools such as Chainalysis, TRM Labs, and internal platforms.
- Interpret evolving regulatory guidance and operationalize it into internal playbooks, processes, and procedures.
- Collaborate with compliance, operations, and business teams to assess risk exposure and build risk profiles.
- Interface directly with regulators and auditors, ensuring transparency and readiness for compliance reviews.
- Draft and implement internal controls aligned with AML/KYC, sanctions screening, and payment compliance standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Seniority Level: Mid-Level to Senior-Level
- Experience:
- Strong background in regulatory and risk oversight within financial services.
- Operational familiarity with FIS Systematics or equivalent traditional core systems.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of the GENIUS Act, digital asset policies, and payments compliance frameworks.
- Language: Fluent in English.
- Work Authorization: U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders only.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with blockchain observability software and compliance monitoring tools.
- Ability to translate regulatory language into actionable processes.
- Familiarity with digital asset integration alongside legacy systems.
- Strong documentation and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
